MallowDrama and At Play Cafe are holding a fundraiser to help people who are experiencing hunger locally and across the nation. Fifty percent of all money from cake and cupcake sales will be donated to Reston Interfaith and Share Our Strength (25 percent to each organization). Reston Interfaith will provide emergency food and assistance to thousands of local families and individuals who are experiencing food insecurity this year. Share Our Strength is a national organization that works hard to make sure no kid in America grows up hungry. Supporting this fundraiser, held by MallowDrama and At Play Cafe, is an opportunity to join the fight against hunger.

National Capital Area Cake Show, Burke, VA
MallowDrama's very own David Supley Foxworth competed in this show's wedding cake competition in March. We'll post photos soon.
Our Hat's Off to You, President Lincoln!
MallowDrama was honored to be invited by the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission to make one of the cakes for the breakfast at the official celebration of President Lincoln's 200th birthday on February 12, 2009. The cake below is Amaretto cake (in honor of Lincoln's preference for almond cake) with almond buttercream, with an image of the log cabin at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace Museum hand-painted by MallowDrama Chef/Co-owner David Supley Foxworth; the cake is also adorned with a stovepipe hat (made of cake) and the first words of The Gettysburg Address:
Chocolate Festival
And here is the cake we made for Fairfax City's 2009 Chocolate Festival. This is our newest creation: Sangria Meets Chocolate - a chocolate-orange cake filled with wine-infused ganache (using Hillsborough winery's Ruby wine) and chopped almonds, and decorated with hand-painted chocolate tiles. The mosaic was inspired by Gaudi's work in Barcelona and created by MallowDrama Chef/Co-owner David Supley Foxworth.
